Sam’s Picks

Sam's PicksWe have decided to focus one of our popular Saturday tastings on our Wine Director Sam Messina’s favorites. Many people who frequent the Wine Connextion have asked in the past what Sam’s favorite wines consist of; on Saturday, September 20th from 1:00PM-5:00PM he will be tasting and providing information on a few of his favorites. Sam’s Picks picks will consist of eight different wines that he believes not only provide customers with a great value for their money; but are the wines that he considers to be his favorites for everyday drinking.

Michael and David Phillips, two brothers whose family has farmed in the Lodi region since the 1850’s, have cultivated wine grapes for nearly a century. Today the family continues to emphasize the importance of quality wines with unique and eye catching labels. Farming with future generations in mind, Michael David Winery has adopted some of the most progressive sustainable farming practices in the state. All 750 acres of the family’s vineyards are third party certified, with their 2011 vintage being certified sustainable.

This tasting is free to the public and, as always, walk-ins are welcome. Enjoy the full Wine Connextion experience and peruse our unique selection of wines fit for even the most discriminating palates!

California’s 2012 Releases

California's 2012 ReleasesOn Saturday, October 4th, 2014, we are inviting guests to experience a tasting of wines from the highly anticipated California grape harvest of 2012. This grape harvest brought what is being labeled as one of the best vintages since the harvest of 1997 in the wine industry. Wine makers of California have described the fruit from this harvest as “outstanding,” for yielding a top quality crop. We will be offering both red and white wine varietals from the 2012 vintage to guests at this complimentary tasting. With all of the excitement surrounding the release of this vintage, this is one tasting wine lovers will not want to miss.

Spanish Fiesta

Spanish FiestaOn Saturday, October 18th, 2014 from 1:00PM to 5:00PM, we will be celebrating Spanish wines sip-by-sip and bottle-by-bottle during our complimentary Spanish Fiesta tasting. Guests are invited to try some of Spain’s best as they swirl their way through wine regions and try new unique varietals of Cabernet, Chardonnay and Merlot.

Grapes are currently the third biggest crop in Spain and because of its primarily dry climate, Spain is right behind France and Italy in its wine production quantities. Spain’s new approach of producing lower yields and higher quality grapes has paid off and the proof is in the glass! These wines, which are naturally free from pesticides and sulfites will sweep guests off their feet as they discover that Spanish wines are comparable to French and Italian wines. Join in the festivities and taste all that Spanish vines have to offer.
