This week, we’re off to Lodi, California to visit with Farrah Felten-Jolley of Klinker Brick Winery who will help us to explore their world-class wine.

1. Cabernet, $14.99

Medium dark garnet color, intense blueberry aromas with hints of clove and tobacco.

Wine Specs. Vintage 2017; Varietal Cabernet Sauvignon; Appellation Lodi – Mokelumne River; Alcohol 14.8%

Tasting Notes. The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits medium dark garnet color, intense blueberry aromas with hints of clove and tobacco. 16 months in French oak barrels encourage a full body, with notes of cassis and supple dark cherry on the palate. Fully integrated and well balanced, this wine has a long, lingering finish with great tannin.

 

 


2. Brickmason Red Blend, $11.99

A blend of 80% Zinfandel, 10% Syrah, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petite Sirah.

Wine Specs. Vintage 2017; Varietal Blend; Appellation Lodi – Mokelumne River; Alcohol 14.9%

Tasting Notes. This blend is comprised of 80% Zinfandel, 10% Syrah, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petite Sirah. Deep red fruit aromas lead into notes of dark cherry with soft tannins and a velvet finish.

 

 


3. Farrah Syrah, $15.99

Dark Garnet in color, the wine gives aromas of Herbs de Provence, black raspberry and toast.

Wine Specs. Vintage 2017; Varietal Syrah; Appellation Lodi – Mokelumne River; Alcohol 14.9%

Tasting Notes. Dark Garnet in color, the wine gives aromas of Herbs de Provence, black raspberry and toast. The palate bursts with bright cherry and spice followed by a long finish. True to Klinker Brick style, the wine is balanced with juicy acidity and a fine tannin structure.

Food Pairing Notes. Pairs well with grilled meats, Osso Bucco, or Mushroom risotto.

 


4. Old Ghost, $29.99

Wine Specs. Vintage 2016; Varietal Zinfandel; Appellation Lodi – Mokelumne River; Alcohol 15.9%

Tasting Notes. The Old Ghost represents the best Zinfandel that Klinker Brick produces each year. Brambleberry fruit aromas intermingled with anise, clove and exotic spice, echo previous vintages.

Food Pairing Notes. Pairs well with lamb.
